The son of the late Rev. Joseph N. and Mother Oliva Connell, Elder Joseph A. Connell Sr, is an Elder and Evangelist, ordained through the Assemblies of God, Inc. Since heeding the Lord’s call to ministry some 20 years ago, he has focused on teaching God’s word and counseling believers in various aspects of Christian faith. He is married to Cynthia Connell and has four children and twelve grandchildren.

As director of this men’s ministry, Elder Connell is responsible for teaching exhorting and counseling in the spiritual development and restoration of the whole man. His aspiration is for the men of New Jerusalem to be encouraged and built up through sound biblical teaching, mentoring, and meaningful communication and fellowship. In doing so, that men will become true Disciples of Christ, faithful and loving to their families and themselves, outstanding in stewardship and leaders who glorify God.

Elder Connell, holds a Juris Doctor degree in law from the City University School of Law in New York, and is an attorney admitted to practice in the State and federal courts of New Jersey and the federal courts of New York. His offices are in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey where he has a federal practice, concentrated in immigration, labor and human resources law, specifically the development and internal structuring of religious organizations. He is also trained as a physician assistant, specialized in emergency medicine.

Elder Connell is a highly experienced Christian counselor and therapist He holds graduate, postgraduate degrees in psychology and biblical counseling, from the City college of New York and Louisiana Baptist College. He is board certified as a Christian counselor through the International Board of Christian Counselors.
